The Great Literary Marathon!

Like I said earlier, my class has a Great Literary Marathon during a three month period, now to February! I'm so exited, I want to break last year's record pages, a full on 18,576 or something...
Bring it on! Amelia, you're going down!
I've read 203 pages already, and it's the second day. That means at this rate I can get at least 9,000 pages, but yesterday I slacked off and watched Burn Notice. so I basically got 200 words in one day, which means that I can make it to 18,000. But there are two breaks to splurge on. I can do this! And I am going to school Amelia, and Amelia's challenger, someone I cannot name, because I didn't get his/her name.
I am sooooooo exited! Now I'm being redundant. Too bad!

HP7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You thought my costume was cool for HP6? Well bam! I actually made the whole bodice thingy and curliedoodled my hair! It was radical. I don't have any pictures handy now though. Maybe later. Anyway. That was a rather random news flash. Now excuse me, I need to do my homework, practice flute, and read for my Readathon. Goal? At least 10,000 pages of coolness!

Hooray For Me

I am proud to say that last night I finished my novel you must have seen the badge and all, but now is my time for commentary and my first book review!
So, I toiled all November to create a novel consisting of roughly 7,000 words that was a total scrap together. I started on the first with absolutely no idea of what to say. I began with the line Skylark Everlace looked out at the stark sunset blazing over the Valley. And went from there.I am a successful winner! Yay! For more info on NaNoWriMo go to this rad place. Sorry, I can't get the linker doodle to work, so you'll have to do the old copy paste: http://ywp.nanowrimo.org/
Next on my agenda is my book review! So, holidays are rolling around, and my class' literary marathon ensues! The book that I have chosen to review, and broadcast to the world is The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch, by Joseph Delaney. The Sunday Times did say, "Ideal for the reader who has outgrown Harry Potter." but I don't agree. I think that it is a thrilling young person's first horror/thriller tale. I really enjoyed its sense of mystery and freaky weird plot. Anyway. It has great chilling imagery to back up the hauntingly believable (for me at least, I have an active imagination) action. Basically a boy of 13, I think, is taken on by a Spook as apprentice, perhaps the last the County will ever have. A Spook deals with the darkness that haunts the peoples precious County. He meets a witch named Alice who forces him to promise that he will feed her relative, who resides in a pit for the County's protection, little baked goods every night. Tom, the apprentice, naively agrees, not knowing the dire consequences that will be reaped.
I thought it was a superb read for those seeking a bit of a thrill if you are sick after hours of reading boring novels about powdery pink unicorns fighting to save their magical rainbow realms. If you know what I mean. Beware, the next books are truly spooky, including frightful ideas on witch hunts and spider-like witches that scrabble and creep about at night!
So, if you happen to read them, stop by and comment, I'd love to hear your opinions. If anyone ever reads my blog. Too bad. If you read this, also recommend your idea of the best book ever. I will read it and see.
Also I need to post a video for my NaNo pals that quit. Sorry, but I find it amusing... (again, have fun copy-pasting.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MwqK9fq-mE
I hope you think it's funny. This is for Amelia and Emmy. :)

A Whole Year!

Wow. A whole entire year has passed in, what, two or three posts, and it's november, NaNoWriMo. Funny how time flies. I'll post some of my story.

Perspective
1. A stark sunset blazed over the Valley. Skylark Everlace was gazing out with a patient keen eye, searching for the one vivid detail… There, a wisp of smoke, a hint of haze, a miniscule beacon. The scent of wood fire crept over the quiet party. The leader, Sash Searo, crouched, head twitching like a cat.

“On my word.” He said in a deep whisper.

The group spread their wings in the W flight shape of a hawk, preparing. They drew daggers emblazoned with the slashed circle of the Fletch tribe. Skylark was totally silent, an expert in stealth. She tucked a braid of black hair behind her softly pointed ear and tightened the straps on her armor, a look of grim determination plastered on her face.

Sash raised his hand and dove over the cliff. That was it. The group leapt silently after, their brown speckled wings painted black for camouflage caught an up draft and the dropping warriors angled into a dive. Skylark noted the wind direction and temperature and speed to accomadate her flight trajectory. She saw the small camp of the Outsiders. The humans. They had a fire going and were singing a song that was foolish and nonsensical.

Sash pulled out a fist sized round stone and fitted it to a sling, with the accuracy of an expert he shot it strait at the fire. The logs scattered with the force, showering sparks on the clumsy singers. They jumped around yelling and shouting. One dove into a tent and pulled out a shot gun, but the tribe’s warriors were faster. Within seconds they had dropped a net and were firing arrows at the humans. The camp was in flames, they danced and caught on the trees and brush of the wide canyon turning it orange and throwing devilish shadows on the surrounding cliffs.

Skylark dropped to the ground and tore at a little child laying stricken on the ground with her javelin and stabbed the girl in the arm, carefully avoiding the main arteries and vital veins.

“Child! If you wish to live, run south to the River of Clare! Go now or die!” Sky had no intention of killing the girl.

More coming soon.

Golden Leaves

As always I manage to spend several months without posting anything. Summer has came and went and now it is time for school! And once again school has started without so much as a blink on the blog. Anyway.
Highlights of this summer include a seventy kilometer, five-day kinking trip in Canada, upon which the fam saw a four foot long from tentacle to tentacle octopus. Also I went on a sailing trip with one of my fabulous friends in the Gulf Islands of Canada and through the San Juan Islands. We went swimming in frigid cold waters infested with quarter sized translucent jellyfish, fun, right!? We saw a large pod of orcas making a border crossing and breaching along the way, we cunningly devised an insult system and took to calling our siblings chilled saltzonas after their skillz tying the Arizona Green Tea to the swim ladder in order to keep it chilled. Don't worry, no tea was lost to the ocean. It was funny though.
Fall sprang up quickly and before I knew it I was going to Fred Meyers to purchase school supplies! Just a pop fact,my favorite type of pen is a PILOT G-2 pen. Ok, that was random. Sadly the new school supply list does not include note-books which are my favorite thing to get.
School began great, me and my other pal were doing an interesting schedule in order to do band and spanish, but I decided that after our trip to Mexico the teacher had a slowish pace. So I switched out and now am in a hippy teachers class, she is obsessed with Bob Marley, but I really like her as a teacher. Me and my friends are planning a booth for our Economics Market place... but that hasn't quite happened yet. Currently I am waiting for another pal of mine to call me back so we can hang out.
Catch ya later in a million years!

Gee Wizard

Gee Wizard! One of my amazing friends who is a complete Harry Potter fan with me has introduced the world of Hank Green and his Harry Potter rock songs. They are brilliant compilations of Hogwarts elements put to music, such as the verse:

"This isn't Hogwarts,
It's a concrete box,
And the pictures on the walls
are never gonna talk,
The teachers don't care,
The kids don't try,
The most magical thing they
have is fluorescent lights.
They don't put you in Hufflepuff
if you aren't cool,
Instead they sort you in
the parking lot after school!"
- Hank Green, Musician and Vlogger

He also has an Accio Deathly Hallows song too.
Other news... Um
Mid terms grades got out and I got an A in all my classes exept for Band. Boo hoo. The new WASL thing is happening in two weeks, this week is going to be full of tedious MAP testing.
Grumble.
Life is good.
I don't know what else to say, so goodbye for now, chances are I won't type for ages.
